The cities of Alicante and Murcia, 78 and 55 km from the residence respectively, are the regional capitals. Other cities of historical importance are Orihuela, Elche and Cartagena.
The regions of Alicante and Murcia have a large number of nature reserves, parks and other protected areas that make them very attractive tourist destinations for nature lovers. Among these are the "Salinas" in Torrevieja.
At a 10 minutes' drive there are the most beautiful beaches of the Southern Costa Blanca, and a little further the famous inland sea "Mar Menor" as well as the "mud baths" of Lo Pagan.
The area is wonderful for cycling. For the touring cyclists and off-road cyclists you have an unlimited number of possibilities here. Those who like it a bit quieter and safer can use the cycle paths next to the 80Km long irrigation canal.
For the walker, there is the beautiful path along the coast. The dunes along the coast of Guardemar and the various nature reserves are also worth a visit. And for the golfers, there are at least 4 other large golf courses in the immediate vicinity.

Alicante is a Spanish coastal city located on the Costa Blanca and the capital of the province of Alicante in the Valencia region. The city with over 320,000 inhabitants is an important port for the export of central Spain and the region with its beautiful sandy beaches attracts many tourists.
The Spanish coastal city Elche (or Elx in Valencian) is 35 kilometres away from the accommodation. Apart from Alicante itself, Elche is the largest city in the province of Alicante with its 234,765 inhabitants. El Palmeral the palm grove is the biggest tourist attraction. It is also a UNESCO heritage site.
Elche has an exotic character.
Murcia is the seventh largest city in Spain and is the capital of the region of the same name. The city is located on the Segura River and has a fairly mild climate. The Spanish region of Murcia is especially important for the production and export of vegetables, fruit and flowers. It is also a large student city.
Lo Pagan Murcia is a paradise located on the coast near the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean Sea. It is a 15-minute drive from the residence.
The Mar Menor is a natural inland sea. In Lo Pagan the beaches are very child friendly. Lo Pagan is also known for its natural wellness. Namely the mud baths and salt lakes.
The Costa Cálida is one of the Spanish Costa's in the region of Murcia. This costa passes in the north into the Costa Blanca and in the south into the Costa de Almería. The most important place is the port city of Cartagena. La Manga is also located here. A narrow strip of land, intersected by a number of canals and openings, which cuts off the Mar Menor lagoon from the Mediterranean Sea.
The nearest beach is Mil Palmeras. A little further north is Cabo Roig beach, from where you can walk along the sea almost all the way to Torrevieja.
In the south we have the wide beaches of Torre de la Horadada that extend to the beaches of San Pedro del Pinatar and Lo Pagan.
